During the month of March of the current year, 5 meetings and 3 cleanup days were held in the communities of Loma fresca, los cocos and la Guácima, where the afternoon was used as opposed to the day in la Guácima, which was held in the morning.
The TerrAmada Foundation implements awareness days with these communities, teaching them how to manage solid waste and changing their landscape pressured by garbage, for a clean environment by performing garbage collection tasks. For these activities the mission was to bring together and reactivate the functional groups in order to draw goals worked on and objectives achieved during the year, encouraging good practices and environmental responsibility with support, until reaching an autonomous awareness of their territory.
DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITY:
-First activity: meeting was held on March 1, 2023, starting at 3:00 pm and culminating at 18:00 hrs.
It was a joint action involving 7 young people and 2 adults from the community of Loma fresca and 2 representatives of TerrAmada.
But also the thematic axis was organized to work in the other days listening to their needs in accordance with TerrAmada.
-Second activity: a meeting was held on March 4, 2023 in the community of Los Cocos, with the participation of one adult and 9 young people, also here was organized the theme of work and meeting new members.
-Third activity: A meeting was held on March 6, 2023 in loma fresca, where 14 children, 7 young people, a mother and 2 fathers participated. During this day there was participation of 2 members of TerrAmada and an advisor, where a talk on motivation and sense of belonging to their territory and culture was offered. Refreshments were offered.
-Fourth activity: a cleaning day was held on March 8, 2023 in the community of Los Cocos, during the day the most contaminated sectors were intervened, then refreshments were distributed and culminated with the socialization and conclusions of the activity. The participation in this activity consisted of 30 children, 9 young people, 1 mother and 2 representatives of TerrAmada plus 1 advisor.
-Fifth activity: a meeting was held on March 11, 2023 in the community of La Guácima, with the participation of 5 young people, 11 children, 2 mothers and 2 representatives of TerrAmada, where they discussed the organization of upcoming activities and goals to achieve.
-Sixth activity: a meeting was held on March 14, 2023 in the community of La Guácima, with the participation of 16 children, 5 youth, 1 mother and 1 representative of TerrAmada, here the team was formed as a functional group and with dates, we set upcoming intervention tasks.
-Seventh activity: a cleaning day was held on March 18, 2023 in the community of La Guácima, with the participation of 11 children, 10 young people, 1 mother and a representative of TerrAmada. The functional task was the correct handling of solid waste and awareness and conclusion of the activity. Refreshments were provided in the morning.
-Eighth activity: a cleaning day was held on March 24, 2023 in the community of Loma fresca, with the participation of 20 young people, 35 children, 6 mothers, 3 fathers and 15 volunteers from other communities plus 13 young people from the Eco wayuu group. Solid waste management and awareness-raising about this scourge and the importance of a healthy territory were carried out. The children were provided with recreation by the Eco Wayuu group and refreshments.
At the end of the activity, thanks were given and before and after pictures were taken.
